Terms of Use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
The short version: Bitelings gives general information about feeding babies. It is not medical advice and it does not replace your pediatrician or emergency services. Always stay with your baby while they eat. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
These terms apply when you download or use the Bitelings app (the "app") and its website. By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. Who can use Bitelings
Bitelings is made for parents and other adult caregivers. You must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to use it. The app is not directed at children.
2. General information, not medical advice
Everything in the app, including serving guides, sizes and amounts, choking information, allergen introduction steps, meal plans, recipes, articles, courses and reminders, is general educational information. It is not medical, nutritional or health advice, and it is not tailored to your child.
- Talk to your pediatrician or another qualified health professional about your baby's needs, readiness for solid food and any medical condition, and before introducing common allergens. This is especially important if your baby has moderate or severe eczema, a known food allergy, a medical condition, was born early, or has trouble swallowing.
- Never ignore or delay professional advice because of something you read in the app.
- Guidance differs between countries and changes as research changes. Follow the advice of your local health service and your child's doctor where it differs from the app.
- The app doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and nothing in it tells you that a food is safe or that your baby is not allergic. Logging a food or marking an allergen step as done only records what you entered.
3. Feeding safely is your responsibility
- Always supervise your baby while they eat. Keep them sitting upright, and never leave them alone with food.
- Prepare food in the size, shape and texture that is right for your own child, and follow food-safety and hygiene practices.
- Gagging can be normal; choking is an emergency. Learn infant first aid and CPR from a qualified course.
- If your baby shows signs of an allergic reaction (for example hives, swelling, vomiting, coughing or trouble breathing), stop feeding and get medical help. Trouble breathing, swelling of the face or tongue, or floppiness is an emergency: call your local emergency number immediately.
4. Not for emergencies
Bitelings is not an emergency service. Reminders and notifications can be late, missed or turned off, and the app may be unavailable. Don't rely on the app for anything time-critical about your child's health.
5. Your content and your data
What you enter (your baby's details, logs, notes and photos) stays yours. It is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy. If you invite another caregiver, they can see and change the shared information; only invite people you trust.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
- Bitelings Plus is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, and as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, the subscription starts at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The app shows the date and amount before you start.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies.
7. Apple's licence terms
The app is licensed to you, not sold. Your use of the app downloaded from the App Store is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which forms part of these terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
8. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app: don't try to break, reverse-engineer or overload it, copy its content for redistribution, or use it to harm anyone. The app's text, illustrations and design belong to us or our licensors. Photos are used under their providers' licences (see Acknowledgements in the app).
9. No warranty
We work hard to keep the information accurate and the app reliable, but the app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about its accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss or harm arising from how you prepare or give food to a child, from relying on the app instead of professional advice, or from the app being unavailable. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where the law doesn't allow that to be excluded, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer in your country.
11. Changes
We may update the app and these terms. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and show a notice in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the developer of Bitelings is established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
